Overview
This is where the Team Manager agrees upon the Work Package including its constraints, delivery time(s) and communications channels/interfaces with 3rd parties. A Work Package should not cross into another stage, although there may be multiple Work Packages within a single stage.
MP1 Accepting a Work Package is conducted in unison with CS1 Authorising a Work Package (the responsibility of the Project Manager) and PL Planning. It is followed by the 'doing' process MP2 Executing a Work Package.
The Team Manager must:
- Clearly agree with the Project Manager about what is to be delivered
- Negotiate with the Project Manager the time and effort constraints
- Agree tolerance margins
- Understand the approval process and reporting requirements
- Confirm product completion with the Project Manager
- Perform risk analysis, planning and resource allocation.
